When to Go To the Emergency Department

In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call emergency medical services at 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT! The emergency department of a hospital is fully staffed and equipped to handle life-threatening emergencies.

Insurance & Payment

At Juneau Urgent and Family Care, we accept Workers’ Compensation, Medicare, most major insurance plans, cash, checks, and credit cards. Please contact your insurance company or you may call our office at (907) 790-4111 to find out if we accept your insurance plan.

Prescription Policy

Juneau Urgent & Family Care makes every effort to address your refill request as soon as possible. However, we have only one medical provider at any given time and patient care cannot be interrupted to address prescription refills. For this reason we require 72 hours' notice for routine prescription refills. Should your need be immediate, you are always welcome to come in and see the physician on duty.

You should make every attempt to obtain your prescription refill from your regular medical provider. Priority will be given to our primary care patients.

We require that you have been seen in our clinic within the past six months for maintenance medication problems, but additional visits may be required. It is not medically appropriate to refill prescriptions for patients who have not had adequate follow-up visits. It is important for our provider to be able to monitor patient progress and use of medication.

Medication refills should be requested through your pharmacy, who will then fax us a request for refill. We refill prescriptions during regular weekday office hours (see above). No refills will be given after hours, on weekends, or on holidays. Before your medication runs low, please call us for an appointment. Be aware that most requests for pain medications and antibiotics require an office visit.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding regarding our prescription policies.
