In the event of a life-threatening medical emergency, call emergency medical services at 911 immediately. DO NOT WAIT! The emergency department of a hospital is fully staffed and equipped to handle life-threatening emergencies.
At Juneau Urgent & Family Care, we accept all insurances except for out of state Medicaid. If you have travelers insurance you can be seen as a self-pay and we will print an itemized receipt for you to submit to your insurance clams department.
Juneau Urgent & Family Care makes every effort to address your refill request as soon as possible. However, we often have only one medical provider at any given time and patient care cannot be interrupted to address prescription refills. For this reason, we require 72 hours' notice for routine prescription refills. Should your needs be immediate, you are always welcome to come in and see the physician on duty.
You should make every attempt to obtain your prescription refill from your regular medical provider. Priority will be given to our primary care patients.
We require that you have been seen in our clinic within the past six months for maintenance medication problems, but additional visits may be required. It is not medically appropriate to refill prescriptions for patients who have not had adequate follow-up visits. It is important for our provider to be able to monitor patient progress and use of medication.
Medication refills should be requested through your pharmacy, who will then fax us a request for refill. Before your medication runs low, please call us for an appointment. Be aware that most requests for pain medications and antibiotics require an office visit.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding regarding our prescription policies.
